Electrical engineering senior Davis Meissner was just one of a number of lucky students and staff invited to go up in one of the two Sikorsky helicopters that landed on the Student Union Mall last fall as part of a celebration of the partnership between UConn and Lockheed Martin "“ the parent company of Sikorsky. "When we first took off, it was like being on an elevator that didn't stop," says Meissner. Then the pilot made a few hard cuts. "We got sucked into our seats with the G-force."

Meissner's other memorable air trip? On a flight a few years ago, while looking for a college to attend, he sat next to a young woman from his Wisconsin hometown. It turned out she had moved to Connecticut for a job. They began dating (still are) and that's how he became a Husky! — MICHAEL ENRIGHT '88 (CLAS)
