In the Fall 2019 issue we wrote about a local artist we often spied at her easel on Horsebarn Hill. Blanche Serban was painting a different plein-air Horsebarn Hill piece a day for a full year. Last year she compiled all 366 of the 10-by-10 paintings for an exhibit at the Jorgensen Gallery on the Storrs campus. Here, a piece of autumn.

A terrific idea brought to fruition by outstanding artwork. It makes one recall all past experiences of viewing the area.
Thank you, Scott. Yes, beautiful places to paint around here, just as you do it, too. By the way, I will give a talk “The Practice of Painting” on Monday, October 27, at Eastern Connecticut State University in the Art Gallery, 4-6 pm. https://easternct.meritpages.com/news/eastern-to-host–becoming-a-woman–series-exploring-complexities-of-womanhood/54747
